VILAETI: IOS ISLAND'S BEST KEPT SECRET

There are restaurants on Ios that are pretty good and some that are pretty bad.
But there is one gem that caters to visitors from Athens who know about this "secret" tavern that other tourists might pass up by accident.
On the road to Maganari and destinations inland, about 5 km outside of Chora, is a tavern named "Vilaeti".
The food here is truly excellent. All ingredients are local organic and produced at the farm of the family that owns the restaurant.
The chef here has definitely trained somewhere special as his food was a treat to eat.
All of my meals were slow cooked and delicious (no microwaves here) as well as the organic fruit and yummy desserts.

The scenery is beautiful and the restaurant's décor makes the dining experience that much better.
